Hold on a minute. FOUL BALL! The Gallowglas doesn't exist yet - it was made to counter the clans. I'm watching you... comstar has made it Level 1 (pre 3025) so it will be fine for your campaign. i.e. it only has basic equipment. If it is the name that is a problem, just think of it as a (heavily) modified Grasshopper. Well I could make it a Grasshopper

Stu's Starting Force - Inf Laser Rifle plt - 63,000 - Vet How? I make a single infantryman 17888 with an auto rifle which seems cheaper than the laser rifle... Each Inf = 2000 x root weapon cost = 2000 x root1250 for las rifle so higher than your platoon cost

Actually I messed it up and didn't change it online.
28 men at 2000 each = 56,000 28 lasrifles at 1250 each = 35,000 5 reloads per man at 200 each for 28 men = 28,000
Grand total = 119,000
i see what you've done, and you may actually be doing it right in hindsight, but the above also makes sense to me. Will review and come back to you

The bank heist I have a grand total of 865 Battle Value Which is: 3 APC's 3 SRM carriers 1 Platoon of infantry They would be up against security personel and possibly an armoured car or two ... I leave that one up to you if you like ... then its onto the star port for the final battle between you and me for the get away Dependant on your showing on the revenge raid, your oposition will be: Battle Value: 845 1 Platoon of corporate security force 1 Maultier 1 Scorpion Light tank (green crew) 1 Warrior Attack Helecopter (reserve) If your first mission is a sweeping victory, your presence and therefore the raid on the bank will be a surprise. If not, word will get out allowing the local reservists to mobilise and come into play.

P.s. If you can print of the spec for the basic Maultier (BV 197) it would be good, otherwise I'll fill in a blank one tomorrow

The BV 197 is the streak srm version so I'll print out the bv 93 which is still technically not around till 3019 ish but is right tech Master unit list says 197 is the basic one using basic srms and armour (discovered and re-engineered in3019 before it was brought up to the star league original with advanced tech like streak srms and ff armour in 3054, which is 209 BV). The design was around since the star league, so figured this would be a vintage model kept in use using current 'low-tech' i.e the stats read exactly as the re-engineered one that comes out 3019 which uses said existing low tech Basically i picked it because it felt right, roughly tie is with the Taurians (though technically 30 years premature) but mainly it fit the BV. if you tell me the BV is lower I'll add something else as well

The winnermen are created! It looks messy so I need to reprint the page and fill it in again. I've got to stage 4 operating expenses and frankly that's me beat for the night... I can't work out what I need to put in there. I seem to recall that as a military government force I am deemed to be at garrison state but that's a sub comment stu made. Presumably I get through more parts and ammo as a result... Well if someone wants to guide me through fuel parts etc then I'm there! (However I'm not ready to deploy anything beyond my mechs on a table yet) and I haven't built my base. Roughly 38 mill remaining

So...damn....proud. I made a spreadsheet with formulas so everything changes itself when someone dies etc. send me yer email address if you think it'd help. Fuel's pretty easy once you know where to look. Oh, and mechs don't use any fuel, so they're all zero.
Mobile HQ is fusion powered, so also no fuel.
Aerospace fighters use 4 times their fuel capacity per month. Thrushes have 5 tons of fuel x 4 = 20. They use Hydrogen based fuel which costs 15,000 per ton. 15,000 x 20 = 300,000 for each thrush per month.
Scorpion is 2% of engine mass x cost of fuel (1000 per ton for petro-chemical). Engine mas is 6 x 2% = 0.12 x 1000 = 120per month in cbills
SRM carrier engine mass is14 tons x2% = 0.28 x 1000 = 280 per month
Striker Light Tank 11 x 2% x 1000 = 220
Re: garrison. Yeah, that's your 'default' position. Just means you never have to worry about nit having a mission to pay the bills. More on that later. That has no baring on creating a force so no need to overly confuse things at the mo. Doesn't effect spare parts and ammo as what you're doing now is findming out your peace time costs, which you'll need to know for getting paid for any mission, garrison included

I have a weighty burden my chums. I love this game, but have been passing over it to play other things recently, and I couldn't figure out why. After much soul searching, I think it's because the idea of all of the pre and post mission upkeep that the Interstellar Operations requires is such a time consuming venture in and of itself, I just can't face the prospect after a day at work. It also means that a 3 hour game becomes a 5 hour game after everyone has worked everything out - that's a lot of time commitment. Ron't get me wrong - being able to control every aspect down to individual bullet aquisition has massive appeal, but if it takes away from the game....?
Sure, it'll get quicker as time goes on, but I don't want it to suck the joy out of a game I love in the meantime.
Some of it is very cool - how you pick your missions, employer, type of salvage etc, but suspect that, in order to keep the game focused on the tabletop where it belongs, I may be looking at a simpler upkeep and purchase process i.e. Just enough to give the games a continual thread and make damage and deaths matter, but remove the bulk of the calculations.
I realise Phil may kill me after all of the paperwork he's done, and am happy to discuss ways to find a middle ground to perhaps retain all that's been done, but simplify everything from here-on.
Thoughts and comments welcome.

Well it's just a game sir There is a simpler version I used to use if your willing but I actually like the number crunching and buying stuff. It's just the upkeep that's painful ish

True, true. Dunno. Will maybe persevere for the moment and see how things play out...
i enjoy buying things and having everything matter, but lugging 4 massive books, plus models, plus gameboard and dice, plus all of the paperwork...
i realised that they are the reason i have't been playing recently, not the game itself. Maybe I'll commit sacrilege and play a game of Alpha Strike to get me back in the zone.
Holla!

I've enjoyed my paperwork thus far. I'm not proper playing until I have bases for my infantry though!
When I've sorted out a couple of games we'll automate and simply that post match on a spreadsheet!
