nice paint jobs matey looking good Cheers dude. I owe it to yours and Bens painting tips - base colour then dip the bastard. Not my finest work, but by god it's so much better for getting your models on the table with paint on.

Last nights game 750pt Imperial Stu vs Cybertronic Tony
In short, I lost, and am blaming poor cover, having a cold, the state of the economy and concern over Serbia. Also, I hurt my pinkie.
Tony may callously point out that I lost because I have a habit of walking my men, very slowly, in the open, towards him.

First Squad, in true Trencher fashion, walk slowly forward towards the objective and die to a man. They did complete the mission though (destroy up an ammo dump) but got blown up in the process.

The sniper takes prime position and can see every enemy squad. Unfortunately, they could all see her. She didn't last the turn

Turn out Golden Lions have all sorts of advanced deployment rules. Yeah. I forgot them, and so had them lumber into the open against the Cybertronics elite troops, and get repeatedly shot in the face.

500pt Imperial VS Dark Legion. A very close Win for the Imperials

Golgotha, a Dark Legion close combat monster, wades in to kill some feeble Trenchers.... Who's almost non-existent armour deflects all of her attacks. She's seen off soon after by the Blood Berets. Other highlights: the Imperial Warlord (who is basically pants and bad at everything) runs into the open on the last turn of the game and pops a cap in a giant scary Razide with his teeny officers pistol, securing the Imperial objective. - Pauls Necrobeast Rider leaps into close combat with the Blood Berets and kills four of the elite troops - with four attacks. In order to wipe out the rest of the nearby Trenchers (and secure his own objective) Paul, in true Dark Legion style, shoots his own Necrobeast to death so he has a clear shot at the poor Trenchers, wiping them out. Fortunately the the Imperials Corporate mission was completed (don't kill an enemy Sqaud commander spy) while the Dark Legion couldn't finish theirs (get the Imperial Warlord). Best game of WZ yet. Huzzah!

600pt Imperial Stu VS Dark Legion Paul- Ambush Our first game using 2.0 rules, which was a basically less complicated and fiddily version of 1.0. Didn't make much difference to us, as we'd been ignoring all of the fiddly crap anyway. Intersting mission, this. Paul's Dark Legion had to set up dead centre after been surrounded by my Imperial troops, who had to come in from all four table edges simultaneously. My job was to get him below 1/4 strength for a full victory, or 1/3 strength for a partial victory. Paul's mission was to survive by the same margins. Here's Paul's dastardly Legionnaires, clustered around a building in the centre whilst my Imperial Trenchers bravely hide in a trench (clues in the name, people!).

With the Trenchers and Blood Berrets whittling down the Dark Legion cannon fodder in the centre, the elite Golden Lions see an opportunity to take on the enemy General.

....hopelessly outclassed, the Golden Lions manage to injure Alakhai The Cunning, but don't put him down by a long shot. They're massacred the following turn by Alakhai and a couple of his Necrobeast Riders. Not content with that, he then charges the Imperial's long suffering Greyhound Tankette, destroying it with ease. The Lion's sacrifice does mean that two of the Dark Legion's three heavy hitter units are on completely the wrong side of the battlefield, and will have to slog, in the open, to get back into the fray. In the meantime, the dauntless Trenchers, Stormtrenchers and Blood Berrets finish off the last of the two undead squads and Razides in the centre, completely destroying the Dark Legion's ability to return fire. No doubt the Necrobeasts and Alakhai would have caused more casualties before they went, but we called it after turn 3 as the Imperial objective had been met, and it was unlikely the Dark Legion could recover.
