I am the only military historian who has had published a serious book on the 43rd (Wessex Wyvern) Division, which has just been reprinted for the third time. It chronicles vividly the campaign in NW Europe 1944-45 when about 18,000 brave young soldiers from five Wessex counties fought their way through Normandy to the Baltic. They suffered over 3,000 casualties, mostly in Normandy, but also in Market Garden.
The book normally cost about £15 but for friends and relations of the Wessex Wyverns a signed copy can be purchased direct from the author (a veteran of that era!) for a modest £10 note, postage included to a UK address. The publisher is Fonthill Media, of Stroud.
