11 go to Beachhead,
[okay I might have miss counted and some of you may have sneaked in without stopping and saying hi].
and a fair few we bumped into whom have graced our holy temple of gaming excellence in the past, and some may pop in again or not.
Entoyment did a prize for the prettiest (read pointless) demonstration game but completely ignored the far more important participation game category. The one which Wyverns win year on year every where we go because we give out sweets. We put on over 20 games for paying Joe public yesterday so that equates to roughly 60 paying punters (some did come back for a second fix) whom got a moment of adventure and wonderment because of the demo teams efforts to enrich the show going experience.
Even I spent some money (aVBCW gun and horse team) and Dyson was busy seeking out bargains. So there must have been something for everyone at the various stands.
The important things to know from going to a show.
1) Parking - Santander needed a booth arranging mortgages to pay for it. So if you can car share and don't park at the BIC - find somewhere cheaper if not popping in for just an hour or two. Oh and as the machines are decades behind those at the Dolphin centre in Poole take a very big bag of coins. Notes and cards are beyond there abilities to handle. If you need change there is a change machine in the BIC so that is a quarter of an hour round trip just to pay for your parking.
2) Tea and Coffee - take a flask -- is the only advice worth giving. What's on offer is wet, brown, hot (to start with) and requires self assembly and for a couple of quid a throw from gormless stuff whom clearly don't know they're job.

Did George manage to throw up all over his mother again -- or did Milton Dad steal his sweeties?
Point to Ponder
We met a fair few gamers whom go to Wimborne gaming club. There membership is bigger than hours, the regular attendees is bigger than ours. Annoyingly they met on a Monday so unlikely to boaster our flagging attendance and yet they have not had a venue for over a year - it is slowly being built. So they game in peoples houses.
News from the Competitions
Tim and Simon maintained the Wyvern tradition of coming near the bottom - this goes back to the days when Lee, Pete and others would go around the area playing PBI tournaments and is not new.
I did not notice ex-Will or ex-Fran playing tourni games but then that could be because it was an Entoyment and not L2L event -- who knows, just saying.
For next year assuming that they're is a next year
I'm thinking of a participation game -- bit like the start of
Indiana Jones
this one is betterbut I might want to play in a Tournament for a change - if there is something that interests me.
file under strange but true.
There I was wearing club shirt (Wessex Wyverns) talking with another chap from Southampton wearing his club shirt (Wessex Wargames) with a yellow Wyvern -- just like out marketing information.
