Yeah , just two base as the "other rules set" that we playedcalls for 60x60, and the divisions in the smaller scale version of teh rules , on average is two bases. They just got back to me and i have ordered 80 movement trays:) Although i mgnetised my WH movement trays i dont think i will magnetsi ethese as teh movement trays wont fit the storage i use at the moment, whereas the WH figurs could be transported whilst in thjer trays

We used warhamster naps rules, and they seemed to "flow". Steve was pointing out a few Quirks with the rules that gave an impression of skewed acuracy. Both Ben and myself found them easy to use , but we have been using the system for ancients and fantasy games. We found that the warhamster rules werea bit easier to use "during the game" , but instead of 3 base per, we were using two bases per and a counter to represent the third base, if we continued to use this syatem the bases/counter thing would need attention. We are going to try them again at some point, but limit "units" to a maximum of two moves per turn and limit the amount of arty there can be as it was quite devastating, maybe a little too devastating.

Ordered some Russian flags on the 24th Fe this year, they turned up saturday 14th March. Five sheets of flags , and nearly three weeks to get delivered. I know Baccus have been to a few shows but really ? Well at least i wasnt waiting for them for anything urgent. So, Notice to all (incase you didnt already know), if you want something from Baccus order well in advance!!! But, i must say i have placed quite a few orders with Baccus and although they take a long time to get to me, not one of them had anyproblems or shortages

Share your pain
Been waiting over a month for some bits from state-side which you would have thought were stock items - just take off shelf, stick in envelope and post back.
Worsed of Paypal is that have had the money all this time -- can see a complaint being lodged if not here next week -- o and the guy does not seem to answer e-mails. *unt

Painting infantry grey trousers, blue top, grey band and red stripes on wrists. Keeping to the simple Prussian uniform, will finish them off and then look at Cavalry decal.
All going well so far painted 8 of the 1000 little gits already, that's 2 hours work so based on that speed only a couple of hundred hours to go!!!

Aw man! You can't have temporal anomalies in the 1800s... Still if they are 6mm ones at least they are REALLY SMALL.

2nd order of Prussians and bases has turned up today, only 4 days from ordering, awesome! Now have a bloody mountain of the little buggers.
Got 50% ready for painting, undercoated and based on temp stands ready to go, just need the motivation now to start, hardest part lol
How is everyone basing them? In doing 60 by 30 but how do you base them and do flock etc as they are raised? Do you make a slight hill or cut into base....Argh....

@anything Green or Mean!
Mine are on 60 x 30's and I followed the Baccus basing system.
The final picture of my 3 month painting project will go up latter today, once I have flocked the 9 messenger figures [ the other 4 steps are finished ] and the rest of my starter bundle was flocked during the week.
Basing makes a BIG different to the finished result - as I will share latter today when the very last step is taken and supported by a photo

Do you make a slight hill or cut into base....Argh.... the foot troops, you can snip the sidesa little (the narrow sides) if youwish. the cavalry have to be snipped as they are cast on a strip facing the wrong way, and then you can snip closer to the hooves if you like ( at least thats what i did). The lip doesnt bother me aswhen any sort of basing material is added the rasied base will be negligible, personally i dont thinkit will be noticable at all. But to help when finishig the base, before the models are mounted ( when the are on the lolly sticks) i do paint the metal base green ( i think chaz does his brown) , then when i do the flocking i dont have to "go-so-close" to the figrues feet to speed it up. The spacing of the foot troops when stuck to the 50x30 base is what you do need to decide, if you space them out a bit you can get a bruch between them to glueflock or paint a colour. If you glue them close together you probably need to have clolour already painted as will be hard to get brush in there.

yep bases painted brown around the boots - needs to be a dark but not black brown.
pva to edge of figure stand, add fine sand then wash with a brown wash.
The Baccus method then has 3 layers of dry brushing and finally the flock hides the metal lip
he horses are more tricky as you need to push the pva between then, ready for the sand

Thanks guys, very helpful tips, just waiting for my flock to arrive so I can crack on.
Better start block painting a little more to get more on the go, get bored to quick but will get them done!
