Well, my base sizes are caste in stone now unforutunately, but what ever people have based im sure we as adults can work around it ......... no , hangon , scratch that FIGHT!!!! As for period, i think we may have to proxy some types, onlybecause i am painting bavarians and westphalians at the minute and have just bought eggmuhl and leipzig ospreys, but this was before chaz pointed out that it is the anniversary of waterloo, so waterloo is going to be the game we aim for. Maybe my bavarians can be stand in nassau etc. or we may even get enough to do the campaign of waterloo without proxy As i think i said in previous post, mine are going to tobe 24 inf/9 cav on 60x30 . But people can base on what ever they like, we can just devise a creative soltion for recording a anything that needs recording.

that sounds good for me! for NB (if we go down that route) I think its 4 figures per base (4-8 bases per unit)... so we could have each 60 x 30 representing two 4 figure bases? or something like that.
Whatever rules set we use I think if its going to be a big refight that we do it on brigade level? Either way I don't mind having some proxies

As nemesis says me has gone in with Baccus I have just committed to a British 1812 - 1815 Army pack, basing stuff, bases, flags and the strong silent treatment from the misses when she finds out. How did it used to go

Hi All, I like the sound of doing Waterloo. I'm old school and very poor (Spent lots of money on ships). I do have a French corp, 8 British/Portuguese Divisions, and a large Austrian army. All painted and ready to go, but 15mm! I could not at this time spend money on 6mm troops. So you will have to count me out of this one sorry. Would come and watch or push figs around for some one. Be safe Rory

15mm Rory? So that's SKIRMISH rules only then? Dave W Hi Dave, Yes! I SKIRMISH with 994 British/Portuguese figures, 1154 French figures. My Austrian army is still in the making. It is around the same size as the other two. Most of it is painted just not on paper record yet. Around 5 years ago I had the idea of re-basing the Brits. Big mistake! I will one day re-basing them back as they were and finish the Austrians. So you can see I only play Napoleonic Skirmish Games with my 15mm figures Be safe Rory

Do sign up - no figures required but a knowledge of the period is useful

Top tip: rebase them on the smallest bases you can get, then use movement trays for the fifteen different rule sets that all purport to fight the same historical period in the same scale but with different base sizes...

Can you give me more information on the above. Chaz! Yeah! My head is yours, it is a little rusty on Napoleonic land warfare. Be safe Rory

There here
- I now have a basic army pack of British to paint, and if that special sand from the basing kit stops leaking everywhere I can get the bases done to.
I'm thinking of painting the infantry up as the 4 battalions commanded by Major Gen Sir John Lambert. But the rest of 6th Division is Hanoverian Landwehr so I will have to buy some more troops in January.
I'm thinking of putting all the cavalry I got under Vivian's command [6th Brigade]
That is the start of my contribution in Baccas but I can fill in some gaps [about 12 bases each for British / French and some horse and guns] from Heroics and Ros which I have gathered together into a shoe box..

If anyone wants to dip into the Rule set Polemos - cheaply
Then on Wargames Vault it is currently $11.10 for a PDF download in January sales or £7 in real money for the Nap rules. The printed copy from Baccus is £15 + P&P
Same prices for The Polemos Napoleonic Companion
I have gone for the downloads -- could buy a printed set latter on.

More on Rules Found these freewargamesrules.wikia.com/wiki/Old_Trousersthere claim to fame from the Baccus forum It looks a little like "DBN" to me or is that because of the 2 x 2 boards which reminded me of DBA. Takes a lot longer to read than Polemus and will require some translation to convert from a set for 15mm and then to fit in with the 60 x 30 bases. May not be the best option but it is F R E E

mm 3 times in one night.... that sounds a bit suspect (in that they are probably ridiculously simplified)

Rory
Even Old Trousers takes an hour + to play -- if I remember correctly there were a good 8 turns in a DBA game.
