This came up in the last game Tim, Simon and I played.
There was some confusion as to when a unit could fire at an aircraft. The rules say only dedicated AA units and targets on an attack can fire at an air asset. The rules are a bit woolly as to when a target gets to shoot, however the example in the game-lay text (which no-one though to read!) infers that a target only gets to shoot at an aircraft on activation.
I propose the following sequence:
Activate an air asset and declare an air attack Defender declares an interrupt from any AA/SAM units or the target IF IN RESERVE FIRE MODE (Overwatch) Air attack resolved Target may attack aircraft IN NEXT ACTIVATION. This may very well be in the next turn, but would not be possible if the aircraft moved on to attack a different unit before the previous target unit activated.

I meant try out the scenario in the OP! You won't get much of a chance to try out the 'standard' rules once the campaign starts!
And yes, we'll be using everything. This is the makey-learney game you requested. I don't see the point of only doing it half-arsed.

DW Agree with what is posted above except my interpretation of the rules is that the target gets to fire as the air asset as it attacks so may get it to abort.
