Yes, 2 packs nru22 Russian line infantry great coats £5.50 each. Are the bases with the sets. I already have some bought ready painted, thought I would give it a try.
Ta Paul.

Do it as a combined guard army?

CBR02 and CBR04. Colonial infantry firing and cavalry with lances. I will have the cash on Monday. Have you solved the bases problem? They are all imperial guard so it is still an imperial guard army wherever the regiments come from, I would argue that they are not even part of your 1/3 allies. I have changed my mind on nepolionic cavalry and will go for CBR02 and CBR04 instead.

No one (and believe me, I've checked -NO ONE) do them. Even Bacchus don't do it. This issue I've got is that some of my models are square, some thin rectangular. It'd be fine if I could start from scratch and choose a different type for all of them. On that note-do you need bases too? Tbh, it isn't that hard mass-producing card cut outs of I really have to.

The army list for the different type of imp guard regiments is as varied as the space marine chapters or chaos alignment. They're created with a very definite theme and style of play. You could make a super army if you ignore the specific army list and just choose whatever regiment/chaos god etc mix you fancied, so I'm gonna impose an ally penalty on myself. Also it forces me to be creative and use the models I already own!

Both sizes are ok with the rules. I know that the long thin ones are more popular with tournament play as they cover more of the battle field. I think I will be using thin plasticard with putty round the bases. Having all my formations matching does not really bother me so will probably end up with a mix.

I have only just found the alternative imperial guard army lists, I see what you mean about variation! Hmmm the possibilities. I will go with your plan, imperial guard formations from other lists come from the allies 25% the same as Titans etc.

I'm using the army list compendium, and only using the approved lists for fairness. Once I've got some games under my belt, in thinking I may make my own list and have the Death Korpse as penal legion troopers, provided that it doesn't unclaimed things and my opponent agrees

Going for a formation with a steam-punk vibe.

Nah. Cheers for the effort tho. The issue I've got is that I've just made up 8 squads with the thin bases supplied. If if known there weren't enough. I just wouldn't have started and used round/square etc instead. On that note, I'm just gonna use 2p coins for the Cavalry, so it's no biggie. I'll have to cut out steps for the rest of the infantry.

How many thin strips did you need to finish the unit. I've got a "war master/epic base bag in my bits box but didn't volunteer that (cos I'm tight) cos I thought you were after an army's worth. I will try and look them out

I used to play 40K with 6mm models (using the 1 page 40k rules) it was a good game with room to manoeuvre. This is relevant as we used to magnetise the individual 6mm bases using magnetic strip (as used on white boards) cut into disks that matched the bases perfectly using a standard hole punch. This could be used in reverse, plasticard base with holes punched in it for the 6mm model bases to fit into. I have not tried it yet but I don't see why it should not work.
I was sure that onslaught miniatures sold the strip bases but it looks like they only do round ones now.

Let me know the results. haven't had any dealings with plasticard, but it sounds like the stuff for me

yikes! They stitch you at the end for VAT as well. Parasites. Brill how much do I owe for Monday? Call it £18 inc the bastard VAT dude (the extra stuff pushed the P&P up a bit) + £8 for the previous stuff = £26 sponduliesIf you don't use all of the bases, I might look to buy some back off you if you likes. Ironskar comes to £15 inc VAT. This stuff looks cheap until you start adding it up! With the bits I got, that's nearly £60's worth of tichies - nearly 500 men and over a dozen field artillery pieces (to shoot Ironskars marines from far, far away). If you guys find it easier, I can PM my bank dets to you and you can BACs it over.

I also bought some German Pioneers, which come in precisely the right number and fit the look exactly for DK Engineers. Time to dust of the Mole subterranean transporter. Oh yeah....
I'm thinking my other infantry on the long bases can be used to found my chaos cult army.
