I got a bit and enjoy playing (Also have land ironclads as well). The basic game is just that basic but with a few house rules its good No where near as complicated as Dystopian though!

Yh ,ive been doing some googling n several of eh reviews say that its very simple, ,but some blogs are saying that they use full thrust for the gamey bits, and aeronef for the lists/fluff.

Agree with most of what Hal said But there is a published linked scenario campaign which is not bad, and playable in an evening. The Austrians have a single vessel and its damage carries across the scenarios and the outcome of the previous scenario influences the next. I have a large Turkish fleet (low tech level) and an Italian fleet (higher tech level) to protect their interests in the Aegean Sea. It badly needs mission cards etc - well any reason for a fight, best if linked to some big picture campaign else it is yahtzee with ranges. I like playing it on OS maps as you can easily write missions of go here, there, pick up spies, patrol a circuit 5kms around the iron bridge works, bomb Norwich cathedral etc. It's not mainstream and unless you enjoy reading Sci-Fi written 100 years ago there are other games out there which probably do the VSF subject matter a better service such as Monster in the Sky.

And the real world copies the mirror world Yesterday on the BBC Aeronef sighted in the UK The airship can stay in the same spot for three weeks and can even fly with bullet holes in it

Imperial Skies! Is that the worst, most badly organised rule book ever written. Lack of cross referencing, things crop up all over the place - maybe you need 2 copies of the book so that with prit stick and scissors you can make a copy that flows properly. You have to apply graphical projection coupled with extreme algebra just to work out what a simple page telling you the symbols on the cards means. And don't get me started on the Stat cards - why have an icon for something you don't have, like torpedoes only a minority of vessels have them yet every card has a symbol to mostly tell you you haven't got 'em en-gb.facebook.com/rottenlead/link

Sounds like the writer should have used an editor and a proof-reader or two...

comstar - oh Gruntz forum moderator and general gotta hot line to Robin kinda guy Do you know if Robin has done an errata. Better still a revised pdf with the corrections I ask because things like on page 30 under Arcs of Fire para 2 Crossing the T says it is 'possible at medium range only' whereas the drawn example on page 34 says ...medium or short range... it would be nice to be playing not only the same set of rules what also rules from the same page

follow the linka fleet pack is £22 so I would have thought £50 buys the lot, as the 2 capital ships are £15 for the pair
