TMWWBK seems to be a straight forward set of rules although I will have to work though the pinning tests as I didn't really follow the text. A good example would have been most helpful, then again a few more examples in the rules section would have been good.
The 8 scenarios are different from the usual fair and would be good to play though -- it's recommended to play both sides and the winner is whom comes out overall of top.
Multi player games - you are in one side or the other but who cares who wins the war, as long as Shape gets the girl or Flashman comes away with the valuables. It's every leading officer / leader for themselves. Medals don't buy you a house in Richmond.
Each unit must have a leader and in the suggested forces section they're is room for some customization of your 24 point force. But Leaders level and special traits should be rolled for although you can skip that.
When you roll to hit and inflict a casualty - roll 2D6 a score of 2 kills the unit leader (2 or 12 against Boar sharp shooters).
Looking forward to playing these once Boris lets us

Will the natal be needed? I have just the last artillery to finish, then I can prioritise.

Natel, not needed for a while. They have a habit of running away first shot later.
Back to the rules. As written it's IG and do all my own turn then you. I'm not a fan of that. We could do it bolt action style but i prefer each unit has a card and these are drawn from a shuffled deck. Think of it as š· cameras rolling action. Will you actor fluff his lines......? The extras are there to make you look good so best profile forward
Types of cover just increase the hits needed to remove a figure, foot 1 hit, š 2 hits, soft cover +1 hit and so
All fractions rounded down

They are nice base holders do they. Fit 2 pence?

No 18mm what size is a penny. Do note these bases are a custom order not a regular line on their website. I wanted bigger but that is the largest Warbases could do in a 40x40 base
I wanted the sabbats so that the figures could be taken out to suit what ever rule set is in use. Skirmishers, remove casualties, lay down for gone to ground etc. Also makes putting your leaders with their units easier as well as swapping weapon options around to denote troop quality etc. Yes I think I thought this through whilst in hospital
BLEACH HEAD any interest in this being a club participation game? I ask as I would like to attend the Underworlds tournament if one is running. I never do well but it's fun to take part

For beach head, me and Dominic are working on a game. Either 15mm ecw or 28mm ancients romans against Dacians Tragen wars. We will decide this Saturday.

Calling this done. Not painted the roof as I'm more likely to run with teddy bear fur. Next my first impi I really must finish that French battalion which was almost done before Christmas As you can see marching Napoleonic troops don't fit with the roof on

I love it. It must have been so much fun to build. I bit the bullet and went full on with the Natal. Hope to have done this week. Got 32 of them going to mount them on 50 x 50. Four up. So two units. I may do a few on 50 x 25 to allow them a bit more flexibility.

It was, I took my time and still messed up one fit. Prepainting as much as you can whilst it's still on the frames comes as highly recommended by me. Just remember to keep away from fire dragons that don't like the smell of laser cut mdf.
I've decided it is so nice to have no time pressures and just go for the enjoyment - I enjoy research to. So this year to two year project is ticking many boxes for me.
Hopefully the first impi will be glued together this weekend but @smaug still has lots of 1:1 scale projects for me and also hates the smell of plastic glue hence the need to get the man cave up and running,
Wednesday I've to empty out the man shed as for my birthday it's getting new worktops and storage racks. I've already refelted the roof so it is again water proof but there is some water damage to repair. Funny how these things occur whilst you are incapacitated! And your 'helpers' have no idea about sorting the leaks out.

tango you said 50 x 50 bases why? Those would have made my life easier. I thought (not that it matters between friends) Black powder was 40 x 40

Yes you are right it is 40 x 40. Lucky I didnāt stick them down.. on page 16 it states that players should adopt there own unit sizes with the frontage falling into the following parameters standard 200-250, smallI 120-150 large 260-325. I will conform for these. however looking at the pictures on page 191. Of the new rule book, a lot of the zulus are pictured on two pence. Is that because they fight in open order? Most of mine are on 2 pence as I used them for another game.
It seems for Napoleonic it makes sense to tighten the formation. But for undisciplined troops such as ancient tribes and Zulu warriors, it seems to me that they would fight in open order. The Natal can just fit in 40x40, that would have received a little training, but were still undisciplined.
Your thoughts are appreciated

Just a note on the two year project, I think that is right. This is not a race itās just what suits. For me I have had far too much time on my hands during lockdown. The painting has been a real therapy it fills my day between going out for walks. I have invested in shadows of brimstone, which is a coop come solo game. Sort of cowboy fantasy. Very quick set up and easy to play so will be starting that. Getting back to the zulus I will have enough to give the rules a try and throw a few dice in anticipation of your mega campaign.

I have a black powder leaflet that comes with the set. There is a picture of the units on 50 x 50. They are so cramped on 40 x 40.

Finding the Warlord Zulu poses rather limited as there are 4 shields on a sprue with 4 torsos but it's not really mix and match more this with that but not that one. unlike the Perry. Oh the only difference between the Warlord marries and unmarried sprues is 4 heads

The felt was in a worst state than I was lead to believe. You shouldn't be able to see wood where felt is meant to be.
To strip the roof, underlay and felt would involve removing the end batons and becomes a 2 day job (or a very long one). So I put adhesive down and felted over felt - not ideally but should buy a few years before having to do it properly next time - when I'm retired.

Didn't appreciate how big the building is until placing some troops next to it.
There is a set La Haye Sainte battle set where the building is even bigger -- maybe for when I'm looking for a bigger project
However I would have to sneak the price tag past #Smaug

Busy emptying out the shed.
My oh my - how much stuff I've acquired. And I got to find a temporary home for it.
Might have to start a "shift my Sh*Te" tread. But is it worth trying to sell little modern ships or triremes?
I fair amount of water damage on the hardboard linning - bollocks, maybe a lick of paint we hide it

Just finished the paint job on the two units of Natal. They look solid on 8 wide four deep. All models have a bit of red on them as shown on the warlord insert. This is make them noticeable from the Zulus. Going to base tomorrow with scorched grass and three different shades of tuft. Then I will put the picture up.

Natal all finished and based. Very happy with them. So you have two units 16 models for each some are based two up as they will need on occasion to skirmish
