I agree with this comment I'm happy with what I already have got, and would need a good reason to think of purchasing this one.

I believe that the 3rd edition is really made for competition gamers
From what i have been told battlegroups got more dice when fighting so attrition will obviously be greater leading to units breaking quicker
Also the cost of Superior and Elite troops has increased from what i have been told
Based on the information i will be sticking with version 2 especially as i have some armies that use bow fire as a strike arm which the new version has made far less potent in my opinion

Movement is easier for undrilled troops in version 2 There are other differences too but mechanics of game have essentially stayed the same
Been so long since i played version 1 i can't recall the other changes

Have the 16 or so army list books changed between v1 and v2? Somewhere in here is a link to the QRS for v2 so I assume that is all we really need to play it.
I know that FOG 3 has said that its down to 3 books and probably needs them with revised points costs
but I finally collected the last FoG R book to complete the full set of A and R together with some N as well but IMO there are better rules sets out there for N, then FoG 3 tips up.
But then I do go back to WRG v3 and with what seemed like most of the south of England stopped at version 6 rather than rebase for v7. Did play DBA but lost touch with the hobby for 20+ years doing other stuff.

Most of the army list are exactly the same in version 2. A few have amendments and there are listed at the back of the version 2 book.

Hi Tango
Oh yes
When FOG came out the basing was kept the same as WRG/DBA so i have been told
I never played WRG rules, only took up wargaming 15 years ago
All bases are 40mm wide
depths are
Light Infantry 20mm, 2 figs Medium Infantry 20mm, 3-4 figs Heavy infantry 15mm, 4 figs All mounted 30mm, figs vary as per type Elephants artilley 40mm
Any over info required please ask, hope this helps
