Themed forces like Empire of Britannia Trading Company could tempt me to borrow a force and have a go
After all I already have plenty of Aeronefs for air cover and air to ground support

Looks mega dude. Let us know how you guys get on! We both had a cracking couple of games We did Deliberate attack with 9 points. Your forces actual points is what is used so Attacker looses 2pts off his force but can set up with 5pts and 5pts in reserve. Defender doesn't loose any points but only starts with 3pts and has up to 8pts in reserve. Winning is very hard as attacker but not impossible.

If anyone's interested, don't forget to follow HW on Facebook. It's a very active site and he regularly brings out 'teaser' updates when he gets to a certain number of followers

It was a good couple of games (thanks Matt). Much more to it than you get from just reading the rules, very tactical. We only played the first scenario and that was without air support and with little impact from my Mech so have much more to explore with the game. The Adventure section should also add a lot to the game. You don't need much to play and if anyone is interested but does not have a force but wants to try it out let me know.

Want me to bring anymore for you to have on the 11th? Hey! Don't call my mech diddy! It will destroy you! Yes please, see you on the 11th. If we are playing the first fixed battle, give it a good read, particularly what you can deploy and as it could impact on your army design. It only takes about 45 mins to play so we will easily get multiple games in.

As it's me, you may wanna text me the night before so I actually bring them.

Just 1 or 2, Matt already gave me a few, I am just working on my next force. So you mean the deliberate attack scenario?
|
|
|
Post by ironskar on Jul 3, 2016 7:43:46 GMT
Yes, deliberate attack. I think you may have a better chance of winning if you have some 'natural' presence 1 units and maybe some capable of deep deployment. As defender you start with presence 3 on the table and you do need more than 1 unit. As attacker you need to get stuck in fast so deep deployment or fast units are needed.

So if i'm understanding the book correctly, the P that's used for 'Loss', Adv, Res sections is the true P value of each unit, not changed by discounts that a CHQ would bring, correct? E.g. My above P9 force actually works out to a value of P17, but I'd use standard P values for the units when deciding who gets removed, put into play straight away, and who gets put into reserve?

I'm not down until the 11th, but does anyone want copies of this? Working in an office may as well have some perks
