Oooh. Found this fluff on Lexicanum. - In 204.M41, the Imperium finally launched a counteroffensive against the Zypher Ork Empire. The re-conquest was led by the Marauders, Eagle Warriors, Raven Guard, and Revilers Space Marine Chapters as well as the Death Korps of Krieg Regiments. In a long hard battle, by 224.M41 the Zypher Sub-Sector was declared cleared of Orks. The Imperial offensive spread past their previous boundaries, pushing deep into territory never before touched by humanity. The Death Korps of Krieg 127th Regiment cleared the lush world of Baran. Baran was declared free of Orks, and Imperial settlers began to colonize these newly conquered worlds.[1]
Over the coming generations, the colonists grew but the population was never able to become significant due to constant assault by Feral Orks. The world's PDF, becoming accustomed to constant assaults and learning from the Death Korps regiments, became known as the Baran Siegemasters. Meanwhile, small numbers of Raven Guards remained to hunt down Ork Warbosses believed to be in possession of valuable Imperial technology. The Raven Guard established a small fortress on Baran's moon to facilitate their operations in the Zypher Sub-sector, Coron.
I'm going full Death Korps, but think I'm gonna end up with units a can't use due to armylist restrictions. This bit o' fluff ties in nicely with making the remnants Baran Siegemasters (as allies) and trying a different type of Imp Guard army with less infantry and more light and medium tank companies...all proxied to f*%k of course. I can also dedicate some of the ridiculous volume of space marines to Raven Guard.
I loooooves the fluff, I does.

Cheers dude. I may be asking you for some advice on how to make 6mm trenches, bunkers and most importantly, gun emplacements The fluff is great. I have just started to read 'Titnicus' by Dan Abnett, very good. Regarding the emplacements etc, we can chat on Mon or do me a sketch of what you are thinking of and I will have a go.

Cheers dude. Couldn't find any trench/fortifications on that one unfortunately. I found an american one that did painted cardboard emplacements, trenches and bunkers all for $15, but the postage is the same again so wanted to see if I can rig up something or buy cheaper locally. worst case, I'll just use the Epic 40K ruins and and use them as emplacements or 'trenches'.

Just noticed chaps - on Net Epic, the compendium was out of date as of 2014. The tournament armylists were updated about a month ago.
As this ins't competitive play, I'm not fussed on who uses what, but I'm going to refer to the tournament one as it's more balanced due to feedback.

I have just compared the two Steel Legion lists, all the stats look the same but in the tournament list you can make points saving on a few units. I only printed it yesterday but worth changing, thanks.

I only printed it yesterday but worth changing, thanks. The Death Korps is quite different - mainly the Gorgon Siege Transports which go from 125pts in the old list, to 200pts! Also extras (having a mortar) which were previously free now cost another 25pts. They've made it a little better by giving it DC3 instead of DC2, but that's still a hell of a hike. I guess it was cheap at the original price (two War Engines that can carry 20 men for 125pts? Perhaps...). Cool. If we're all working with the same lists, it means that our glorious victories and humiliating defeats will be genuine and fair!

re: Tournament lists - anyone know how to print them?
If you just press Ctr-p, the layout goes all over the place.

re: Tournament lists - anyone know how to print them? If you just press Ctr-p, the layout goes all over the place. Some more info would be helpful... Are you trying to... A. do a screen print B. print the pdf If the later, have you... 1. tried to print from within your browser 2. first saved the pdf to your hard drive If it was me, I would be trying to do B2. Annoyingly it's just a link - HERE
I admit that I'm not a techie-bod, but just can't see a way to download or print correctly. All I've been doing is right-clicking the screen and selecting print, and that's when the layout goes spastic. Help me wise owl!

Go back to the previous page, the NetEA Tournament page www.tp.net-armageddon.org/On the Imperial Guard – Baran Siegemasters (2016-02-16) line, right click the pdf icon at the end of the line and save it to your hard drive. You should be able to print it normally from within your adobe reader (or whatever equivalent you use to read pdf's). Life saver! Cheers matey Jim. It shall be so

My army arrived this morning, worked it out to be 2,000 points. Has anyone got a spare 6mm space marine that's missing its mummy and would like to join a great bunch of mates. As one went missing in the packing. Paul

I will bring the army in on Monday, I might have to have help carrying it in. Then you can have a look at its helmet.
