Assuming you're asking Nemesis - I've got several of every colour from different editions/blocks. Tend to prefer two coloured decks myself.
On that note - I got loads of green not going used as I don't like that colour, if anyone's interested in buying/swapping.

well, i bought a dump load of cards now , and when i have an idea of how a deck works , or needs to work , i can have a go at making some decks, i bought mainly "Oath of the gatewatch" with just a couple of packs of the lasttwo blocks, oh and some guy on ebay was selling 500 cards for a fiver, so i bought one of those to i got plenty cards to be getting on with for i think.

Cool.have no idea what mechanic Oath of the Gatewatch uses (never even heard of it) so will be interesting to play against for the first time.

Based solely on pretty I like red and blue White is my favourite - tends to use soldiers and tactics over massive monsters and killy spells, though blue appeals to my devious nature. Green I don't like (because they have huge monsters which I find dull),black is always interesting and varied, but tends to favour letting the enemy kill himself (either by draining life or raising cards from the graveyard as well as the library), and red are the cool looking kids - goblins, dragons, barbarians, and lots of flame. Well, that's how I've always seen the decks. Every new edition changes that slightly, or even turns it on it's head on occasion.

Now you're fully spammed up with TtS, you'll have to dress appropriately. I was going to suggest you and cthulhu dress as Goths, but looking at this phot from 2005 I see you already have....

At no-wayland they have all the Theros starter decks and my X decks 50% off. (Clearing old stock)
Are starters like that playable generally or will they be filled with specific cards which only suit that issue?

(Clearing old stock) Are starters like that playable generally or will they be filled with specific cards which only suit that issue? That's still pretty new. Nothing is stopping you from using decks from different series, tho admittedly the mechanics involved in each (Monstrous is the mechanic in Theros, if I remember rightly, where you can super-power up creatures) tend to be more balanced against decks from the same block. Flying in the face of public opinion - I don't care if it's balanced. There's still a high degree of luck and skill involved. Also, the decks you're lookign at are pre-designed to play a certain way, so they should play that way well, regardless of your opponent. Personally I like to get the big intro boxes and make my own, ( INTRO BOX )so I can make decks that play the way I want them to. Each to their own.

Yes. I would go the way of the toolkit but thought it would be sensible to get something workable

yeah absolutely - gives you an idea for ratios of cards, styles of play etc. Always a good idea. The reason I mentioned the intro box/toolkit deckbuilding way of playing is because (once you've got some experience) you can make a deck as balanced/good as you like, which to me negates the commonly held opinion that the older stuff can't keep up with the new.
The shops might not let you play with anything other than the new stuff, but that makes sense for them - they're the ones selling it.
The last decks I bought were from Innistrad about 3 years ago (bar one theme deck from Thelos that I ripped to shreds to go into other decks), but I've got decks going back to 1994. Let me know if you wanna game using stuff from the same block, different blocks etc
