All mechs are height 2, regardless of type. Even though there's a big difference between Atlas and a Commando, they are still higher than a tank, so get the generic lvl 2 height rating. Think of it as a range that all mechs fall into, rather than an exact number.

That's cool. I presumed armour 1 mech 2 but wasn't sure if it was a more discrete division. So presumably a waist high building/hill may be 1 with a 30mm building (skyscraper etc) be 2 and cliffs 3 perhaps?

Even the the hex boards that come with the game are 2D, we still put 3D buildings on (Epic 40k is good for this).

I have just had two new products in to work and may work well to making a cool looking board for playing battletech First up is a pack of 5 boards which are each 32x764x392mm. They have 20x9 hexes each for £25.50 per pack. 5397007106923
Next up is the larger single board which is 32x764x1176mm. This has 20x27 hexes for £17.97. 5397007106886Also they are 43mm across the hex flats

Hmmm interesting. I thought about mdf hexes but you might as well use hexon, or chicken wire...(bit lethal)

You could actually use the Napoleonic stuff as infantry for your Mechs

Hmmm interesting. I thought about mdf hexes but you might as well use hexon, or chicken wire...(bit lethal) I had a good at them today and are about the same size as Heroscape hexes. Also thought about using foam spray as filler and as play area would be above you could use hight difference to make rivers etc in the holes

What's the depth of them? Don't underestimate the mass spray filler adds... And is dreadful stuff to work with. (Experience) [saltii Vash - +EXP250 Unusual Materials]

For those of you who were put off by the old Ironwind sculpts, Mechwarrior Online has prompted a whole new range - and they look pretty sweet (check out the Atlas on the left!). I actually get a nostalgia kick off the old ones, but each to their own.

No mate - I'm not that good!
Just stumbled across it. A guy called steelwarrior does Alpha Strike and was using them. A lot of the forums keep referring to him as the creator, though don't think that can be the case.
Will keep an eye open. Reckon they must be brand squeaky new.

Cheers matey. You can't really see, but they are also blue.
Think my forces are looking a little bland though. Need to add some service hatches or industrial warning band-type thing.

having gone all Lyran and taken only assault mechs, missile boats and heavy tanks, I figured I needed some mobility. dabbling with painting unit numbers, but they look pretty pants. Need good transfers. Any suggestions?
