Just counted - 17 by 17 hexes, though width-wise it starts and ends with a half hex.
So at 1.5 inches per hex, that's 25.5 inches all together

Any clues as to where the Clan Puma pointy-laser-radio-transmitter-spike-deathray-thingy goes ? It's prime configuration has 2 ER PPCs and a Flamer. Not sure if that's what you're talking about?

Hex Tree Creation Guide
Edit: it's not really a guide. It basically says 'once you've got somone else do do the technical difficult bit, stick some stuff to it' oh well. It's there if you find it helpful.

mite not be able to have "examples" this Monday, but should hope for the following Monday, depends if manage to get any painting done tomorrow.
Off topic, what have they done to the rifleman mech ? , i absolutly loved that figure, but now its assaultcannons not double rifles, and the cute littleradar on top has been turned into a solar panel, the more i look at it the more it is growing on me, but the old model was better ( i think ) .

Do people mount their vehicles on hex bases too? and if so what do you do with the mash unit etc, that are too large for the single size hex base ?

If they fit fine otherwise leave off the bases. I know Stu puts all his on bases

It does save space without , but I like the uniformity of having everything based. Personal preference

So if you were using a board do you like that they are constant or would you prefer sections that slot in and out? Like the hexon stuff but more tailored?

Hell no, random and slottable is much better. The existing boards have masses or re-playability, but I always envisaged adding bits to change the map etc. even bought a load of Heroscape for use eventually.

Is all the game hex based or does the size of the hex matter? I mean do you have true line of sight etc? Still reading introductory rules...

Post by stubram on Apr 26, 2015 16:25:30 GMT
Hexes work by levels (1, 2, 3 etc or -1,-2,-3 etc for sub-ground levels). Vehicles are considered level 1 in height, mechs are level 2, which means a mech can shoot over a level 1 piece of terrain and gets a to hit modifier when getting shot at. The game does take true LOS into account as well though, not only for levels but to see if a target has to be shot 'through" light or heavy terrain

If you're using propper 3D terrain, it's easier to factor in whether a piece is level 1 or 2 or whatever. Or if your trees are light or heavy. Practicality over aesthetics in this game

What height are mechs? Height 2 for the big ugly skull one (atlas?)
