Hi Guys, who would be keen to do this campaign with me? We can either use tank wreck or I have modern spearhead which works very well, gives fast games and is very beginner friendly. www.fireandfury.com/scenarios/externals.zip

I looked at modern spearhead, but I thought it seemed geared up to a more multiplayer sort of thing with a C-in-C on each side directing their subordinate generals.
We've been using GHQ rules recently which are quite good, and we're thinking of using the WRG modern rules to set the scenario up, with GHQ rules to play it.
Either way, sounds interesting and wouldn't mind giving it a go. It'll make a pleasant change from Brits/Germans/US vs Russians.

great i ordered a copy of the spearhead rules so will bring them in next monday for you to have a look at... maybe a test game and if it isnt your cup of tea we can try anything. I have all the stats for the SADF vehicles so we can just convert them across. I also have most of the SADF units sorted... what base sizing do you guys use?

I'd recommend using longer bases for any tanks, just to protect the barrels when you're transporting them.

But using larger bases would mean i cant the bases in the "really useful" trays i use, just have to be carfeul when taking them out

Simon which manufacture are you going with? If GHQ then bigger bases for tanks would work but HR are a fare bit smaller and mine only gust go over my bases. Hope that helps

I'm using GHQ with a smattering of Scotia for the SADF and GHQ for the FAPLA/Cubans. luckily most of the units are quite small... the biggest on table unit for the SADF is a modified centurion and the cubans have T62s...Will play with some sizes this weekend and see. I am just ordering a few filler units etc then we should be good to go

I've played this campaign before... it is really good fun. The victory points lead to interesting finishes. if anyone wants to do some reading on the era larry bonds book vortex is great.

ok great. most of the stuff is fairly generic. its not likely we will have more than 4 brigades on the table at one time. SADF i have mechanised and parachute brigades. i will also get a FAPLA militia brigade as i dont think people will have that much infantry. so its just a cuban mechanised brigade we need to proxy up. i was going to put the minimum lists up and just see what people had?

Antitank Company, 1st SWAPO Infantry Brigade (ME) 2x B-11 107mm Antitank Recoilless Rifle 2x GAZ-469A
Reinforcements

Must admit the GHQ stuff does look nice.
I can put together a fair bit of the SWAPO forces, but alas not all of it and my stuff is all H&R
