Yeah, what he said. Basically I was offering my services to either a) have a 'friendly' with no rankings involved or b) if you struggle to find a ranked partner, I'm happy to play so you can earn points (even if I won't). As you mention, first priority should go to people seeking mutual ranked games. I was just curious to see what it's like playing against Seamus to see if I can get some inspiration and/or what his weaknesses are from the other side of the board. No probs if you want to defer for a while until we know who needs to play a ranked game. Monday the 9th ? , friendly game-no points Sounds good McDuff. 9th Feb it is.

One thing, is there any reason why ranked games should be played on one specific night in the month ? Can we just say "play one ranked game "wiithin" specific month. Just askin'

I decided to make the 1st Monday of the Month League nights so collecting results would be easier for me and it wouldn't clash with the role players but if you can't make it down on that particular night or have prior game commitments then changing it is fine. Just make a note in the relevent arrange a game threads so I can keep track of numbers and whos playing who so I can track game results for the League table.

Statistically allowing league games to be played where it counts for one party and not the other skews the maths of a league (I like but just saying)
For instance I play stu and he gets a draw. He plays Ben and Ben gets a win Ben plays tony and Tony wins Of the 4 players your results are Draw 2 Draw 2 Win 3 Win 3 Giving you a total of 10 points off 3 games and 4 results. In terms of leagues it means no one is out necessarily as easily ie the result of one winning is no necessarily the other losing as their ranked game might be a win elsewhere...
It means you can have almost as many wins as games. (Bonus in my opinion). As a Sunday morning post I'm guessing this will make no sense whatsoever

Can i get a ruling on proxy models? I was hoping to get my electric creation along with a few other bits picked up at the York show today but the guy trying to source them for me couldnt get any in time. Can i use a something meantime until i just go the sensible route of mail order? Like maybe a lightbulb or some fuse wire and tinfoil or do i have to do without until i can field the correct model?

Phil you made my brain hurt!
Mike, so long as it's fairly obvious what you are trying to proxy it'll be fine. No space marines as ronin or terminators as terror tots etc

Phil you made my brain hurt! I don't really do football but it's the conversations you hear at the end of a season where so long as west ham score 3-2 against Wolverhampton and Sunderland draw 3-3 away to slough you win on goal aggregate. . Or something.

Bah, balls to that! We'll just leave it as it is and at the end of the League if there is a tie for pole position then we will have a grande finale in December whilst other members of the League tear each other apart in fun games. If there are multiple people tied (i.e. 3 or 4) we can pit them against each other in a 3 or 4 player scenario. Simplicity is definitely the best way forward.

I consider it a bonus that a win can be met with a win and that just cos you won does mean your opponent has a ranked loss

A few changes to the line-up. Dan (Bowers has changed master as he lost his case!) and Simon will be changing over to Lady Justice to learn the game whilst playing in the League. Neither have had a ranked game yet but once they have played their first ranked game their masters will be locked in. Additionally due to unpredictable work schedules and commitments Gina has pulled out of the league.

Don't lie - you made her up. You go home at night, put on a gingham dress and talk to yourself in a mirror.
