Started painting my 10mm LotR project - first army is Rohan. Here's the first test figure - 10mm Copplestone from the 'Mounted Heroes' pack.

I think its brown caulk with some stitic grass, Mark will confirm You are indeed correct. I'm using dark brown decorators caulk, which has the benefit of being dark brown same as dirt, and is sticky (like sh*t to a blanket) so it sticks to the base without the need for glue, and sand sticks to it. After the caulk is on the base I dip/sprinkle with sand and small chips of stone (the rocks on the base) and then add a drop of water from an old brush. This has the effect of drawing the glue out of the caulk and into the sand making a good bond. Once dried it gets a dry brush of lighter brown and then a highlight of pale sand colour. Finally I add some home made grass tufts. On some tufts I've added coloured sand which ends up looking like flowers on the plant. Job done.A Hero of Rohan (with flowery tuft)

I really like the Copplestone 10mm fantasy, bags of detail and relatively easy to paint

I've been avoiding 10mm like the plague (one scale too many and all that). But now you're giving me second thoughts..!

If it was not for the fact that many of us have 25mm already, I could weaken.
It is play with what you got versus buy what you can't afford - for me.

What materials are you using there? What are the bricks in the wall?mdf? Loving all of it but keeping my feet on the ground and definitely not going to buy more toys whilst I don't have time... Doh maybe just a few...
