Or sub title -- what I'm trying to do this week
Smaug has gone to Prague for 4 days with a friend so me thinks, I will take the same 4 days off as holiday so that I can sort out the loft and put my wargaming stuff in a more accessible place - rather than at the end under the eves and rafters.
Day 1
The upstairs spare bedrooms are filling up fast -- boy how did I become the owner of so many folding storage creates, gave up counting at 43. Would not be so bad if each (well any really) had just the one game system in them. I have not even started with all her stuff or the dozen or so book cases and its only another 3 days and Smaug is back. Nor have I counted all the boxes with wargaming stuff in which will also need sorting out.
There I was hoping to tidy things up and restore it into some form of order! It now looks like the piano is coming back in doors from the shed - tomorrow - and the storage crates are going outside to the man cave - to sort through, through out the winter.
I've got ACW in 10mm, 15mm and Airfix 20mm - do I really need it unorganised in 3 different scales?
Yet I still have not found the ONE box I'm looking for. I found what seems to be the rest of the Hell Dorado kick starter yet the Cipher Westeners starts box eludes me. So if any of you scavenger hunters finds it on a stall at a bring and buy -- please get it for me but don't spend too much.
I found the By the Fire and Sword kick starter models but the box has been invaded by cold war tanks.
Considering how few times I played Confrontation I do seem to have a lot of it and now what's that -- unopened boxes of Urban War.
Hush don't mention how much AT-43 there is here, and most of that is not even in storage crates.

I feel your pain.
I "tidied" all my models out to my garage last year when the loft had stuff happening here.
It's taken me a year to get things straighter here. £200 of really useful boxes later and things are beginning to be sorted, graded, led out in trays and I've given up on how many boxes of X and started measuring it by litres. There's 240 litres+ of "bitz" one day they will all be done I'm sure... most boxes have labels now at least. And I have opened up the display cabinet for the lovely models.

Day 2
So far so aggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
I'm not posting a selfie as it would show a grown man crying
Looks like I'm going to invest in a set of K&R boxes to sort it to during the winter.
Tomorrow looks like it is put it back in the loft where it came from. But I may put it round in a way that there is a central corridor and starts labelling boxes
Result: Loft Won Chaz Lost

27 spare pillows are now back in the loft, twenty seven - why?
I have enough spare bedding for 4 single beds
but I have no single beds
and no common sense pass to chuck it away from Smaug
How the heck I'm I going to get my stuff back in the loft

Day 3 is now at a close Thanks to some knights in shinning armour (aka comstar and tango ) Smaug's study is now empty of over 70 boxes, books etc. and all I've got to now do is steal a magic wand to restore order in the loft. Still as it's back in the loft (though not the final resting place) I can at least claim "out of sight, out of mind"). There is now the more enjoyable task of slipping tea, listening to the radio whilst sorting stuff into like minded boxes. Thus when someone says "fancy a game of...." I may be able to find the things I need. Still resisting the need for a flea bay fire sale but I'm sure they are a few things [like my 10mm or 15mm ACW] whom would benefit from such a move, if lead was not so damn heavy. Battlefleet Gothic stuff is being looked over and may not be coming back. tomorrow - continue sorting and then at the weekend I've better carry on progressing one of 4 projects I got on the go -- be it scenery for Men of Company B or Hell Dorado - paint a model or two or paint up some more ships for Hammering Iron or even get back to Napoleonic British force. So much to do so little daylight

Day 4
Sorting, sorting and more sorting. Well at times it is more like tipping these models into that box because they're the same system and unpainted.
About half way though the crates and I'm currently freeing up 1 in 3 creates.
So far found so much WarmaHordes stuff that I will need to do an inventory before buying anything else.
I have found the spare unpainted Italian fleet for Aeronef / Imperial Skies but not the painted one - it must be there somewhere.
Nor have I found the HD Westerners starter box but then the other one I brought is in the post and I guess they will turn up on the same day.
Will not be up in the loft much over the weekend as little one has moved into his first house and I'm on duty there.
Unless something exceptional occurs this is my last post in this thread
final folding storage create count was 51 and a good 20 plus boxes

and that shop did not have one - so I'm still short a Westeners starter force -- will have to see if I can recreate it a blister at a time unless it is found on a bring and buy
and trying to avoid £13 shipping
